"During the intervention, what was also appreciated was the fact that there were different consultants in contact with the teams: GDPR regulatory compliance professionals but also cybersecurity professionals, which brought a real richness in the exchanges."

1- Could you briefly introduce yourself : your company, your position, your responsibilities?

 

"Hello, my name is Stéphane Gasparian and I am co-director of the Maison de l'Enfance Bachelard. The Maison de l'Enfance Bachelard is a socio-cultural association whose aim is to organise care for children aged 3 to 13 and their families. But beyond the care time, this establishment also aims to create social links in the area where it is located."

2- For what type of need did you call upon CyberSecura? What was the trigger?

"We approached CyberSecura for three main needs.

Our first need was to be compliant with the GDPR, and therefore in compliance with the law.

The second need, linked to the first, was to secure both our association (because we develop communication tools, such as our website, our Facebook account etc.) but also the personal data we process. Indeed, in the context of our foster care activity, we are in contact with various organisations such as the Urssaf, the CAF, etc., organisations through which we collect a lot of personal data when we register. It was therefore necessary to ensure that all this data was secure.

The third need concerned a training component. It was a question of bringing employees up to speed, as they did not all have the same knowledge of these issues of regulatory compliance and personal data protection."

3- Why did you choose to entrust these missions to CyberSecura rather than to another provider?
 

"We chose to entrust these missions to CyberSecura for two reasons. The first was that we already knew each other and some of the team members. But I also really liked the contact with your company. I would say that there was a lot of simplicity, proximity and a real ability to 'get down to the customer's level'. We felt that there was a real effort to adapt to our level of understanding, a real effort to personalise the approach.

Not all our employees were aware of or trained in the same way in these issues, and yet, at the end of the training, they had all understood the importance of them and had all found them useful."

4- Did you have any particular fears before setting up this project?

"No I had no particular fears, except for some concerns beforehand about the price this service might cost us."

5- What are the challenges in your sector of activity today?

"For other structures of the same type, or even for other organisations that are not in the field of socio-cultural animation, and that have not done any training or intervention at this level, I would say that in general there may be a lack of awareness and understanding of these issues. There is always this idea that "we are not a big company so we are not concerned".

The problem with security is that very often, what is put forward is the hackers who will attack and block your company, but the fact that users' personal data is secure is in my opinion just as important if not more so! So I think that the real challenge today, and it is a challenge that concerns all professionals, whatever their sector of activity, is to understand the importance of protecting personal and sensitive data.

In the framework of our structure, and following this training, our challenge will be to remain up to date, because a large part of the intervention consists of explaining good behaviour and being wary of bad behaviour. But bad behaviour can come back very quickly in a team. So our main challenge is to remain vigilant and stay up to date with this training."

6- How would you describe the work done by CyberSecura? 

"I would say simplicity, pedagogy and also adaptability."

7- What do you think are the results of this collaboration?

"The first result of this collaboration was to make us compliant with the law (GDPR), which was our primary objective, so it is important that it was achieved first.

The second objective was to raise staff awareness of this regulatory compliance issue, and to train them in some good security reflexes. And I think it was achieved! However, I am aware that there is nothing definitive, that bad reflexes can come back quite quickly and that we need to be vigilant about this. However, I believe that this second objective of raising awareness has been achieved."

8- What did you like most about the solution provided by CyberSecura?

"First of all, what is pleasant with CyberSecura as a service provider is that there is a real speed of response. There is also a real understanding and consideration of the needs. Even though it was only a three-day intervention, CyberSecura really took its time in understanding our needs and in carrying out the service. We are on a small budget and yet we did not feel that we were less important than another client who would order larger volumes of work. This is something I really appreciated.

During the intervention, what was also appreciated by my colleagues, was the fact that there were different consultants in contact with the teams: professionals in regulatory compliance with the GDPR but also professionals in cybersecurity, which brought a real richness in the exchanges. Moreover, the choice of content, dates and periods of intervention was made without us feeling pressured by time. CyberSecura was able to demonstrate its adaptability and respond to our needs in a relevant and rapid manner."

9- What advice would you give to companies facing the same challenge / having the same project as you?

"My advice would be to contact a company that is an expert in this field and ask them. It may be tempting to find out for yourself by looking for solutions and information online. However, I think it's important to have specific answers to our questions, especially when it's an area that is foreign to you. I would therefore advise them not to hesitate to turn to professionals: it saves time, but also gives you a clear idea of the budget involved, as it is very easy to fantasise about a price for an intervention that is not at all what you would have been quoted."

10- Would you recommend CyberSecura to others, and for what reason(s)?

"Yes, and for all the reasons mentioned earlier, i.e. all the strong points such as adaptability, reactivity, and the seriousness of the intervention too."

11- Do you have anything to add?

"I would add that I found your approach to making appointments for follow-up interesting, because you could have just sent an email with a questionnaire and asked for a photo. I find that this contributes to the personalisation of the relationship and I thought that in my role it could be something interesting to reproduce at the Maison de l'Enfance Bachelard."
